An investigation is ongoing into a fatal crash that occurred late last week in neighboring Mercer County.
According to State Police, 18-year-old Matteo Guajardo of Pittsburgh was traveling south on Interstate 79 in New Vernon Township just after 8pm on Friday (November 11th) when his vehicle went off the roadway.
Authorities say that the vehicle then went over an embankment before rolling over back on Interstate 79. Police say that a pickup, driven by 51-year-old Daniel Blyer of Cochranton, then struck the passenger side of Guajardo’s vehicle.
Officials say that Guajardo’s passenger, 19-year-old Danielle Duncan of Pittsburgh, was pronounced dead at the scene. Guajardo was taken to the Grove City Medical Center for treatment of suspected serious injuries.
