The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Butler is moving forward with another street reconstruction project this summer.
The Authority board approved a bid proposal from Oakdale-based Independent Enterprises, Incorporated in the amount of just over $71,000 for reconstruction of Glenn, Slagle, and Standard Avenues. Independent’s bid was the lowest of three received to meet specifications outlined by Gateway Engineers.
Some road closures are expected but only for short periods of time. The money for this project will come from 2019 Community Development Block Grants through the state Department of Community and Economic Development.
Work is expected to begin as soon as this same company completes another road reconstruction project that includes Euclid, Spang, Sumner, and Cottage Hill Avenues which was approved by the Authority board at their meeting last month.
