Leaders from departments of agriculture across the country say that the number of bird flu cases is waning.
As the warmer weather hits, researchers are finding that the avian flu is dissipating here in Pennsylvania and across the country. But, its impact was still dramatic.
According to state officials, the poultry industry lost 4.2 million birds in Pennsylvania due to the bird flu.
That loss also hit consumers, as prices for eggs went up by 30 percent and the cost of chicken also rose by more than 15 percent.
However, the poultry industry expects there to be some relief soon for buyers as farms continue to grow their flocks.
