Barbara “Joyce” Hall, 89, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on October 19, 2021 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 16, 1932 in Butler, Pennsylvania to the late Henry W. Grenet and the late Marion B. (Jamison) Grenet.
Joyce was a 1950 graduate of Butler High School. She was a 1954 graduate of Temple University School of Dental Hygiene. Joyce was a Dental Hygienist at Dr. Supler’s Dental Office for 25 1/2 years. Previously she worked for the First Orthodontist in Pittsburgh; ButlerTownship Schools; and the University of Pittsburgh on a research program. Joyce was President of Center Township PTA for 2 years; Registration Chairman for “Fellowship of Churches Women’s Group”; a member of the Mayflower Society, Intermediate Club and enjoyed playing bridge.
Joyce’s Great Great Grandma Berlin left St. Mark’s Lutheran, Butler, PA to begin the First English Lutheran Church in Butler. She was a life member of 7 generations on her mother’s side. She was a Liturgical Deacon, Miss Sunshine and handed out bereavement and get well cards to church members.
She is survived by one son, Scott G. Hall of San Diego, CA; one daughter, Stacey H. Noah of Butler, PA; three grandchildren, Koryn F.Noah-Patrick of Pittsburgh, PA, Benjamin H. Noah of Butler, PA, and Keaton G. Hall of San Diego, CA; 2 great grandchildren Ellison P. Noah-Benjamin, and Pippa W. Noah-Patrick; sister, Patricia G. Hill of Saxonburg, PA; brother in law, Robert Kaltenhauser of Saxonburg, PA; sister-in-law, Susan Grenet of Butler, PA; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Hall who passed away on February 4, 2004; great grandson, Ozzie Noah-Patrick; one brother, Gordon L. Grenet; two sisters, Zandra G. Lockhaiser and Janyce G. Kaltenhauser; son-in-law, Alan Noah; and daughter-in-law, Regina Steurer-Hall.
Family and friends will be received Monday, October 25, 2021 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA. A funeral service will be held following visitation at 6:00 pm with Rev. Kimberly van Driel, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Mt. Chestnut Cemetery.
