The Butler Township Planning Commission has recommended conditional approval of a project that would improve wastewater infrastructure in Butler Township.
At their meeting Tuesday night, the Butler Township Planning Commission learned more about Butler Area Sewer Authority plans to expand the Greenwood Pump Station near the intersection of Greenwood Drive and South Benbrook Road.
BASA would like to acquire two-tenths of an acre in order to construct a new wet well along with a new equalization tank. These structures would be mostly underground and the project would also include the extension of the current Greenwood driveway for the facility onto South Benbrook.
This proposal will next move on to a vote for final approval by the Butler Township Commissioners later this month. Barring unforeseen delays, this project is expected to get underway about a year from now and take approximately 18 months to complete.
