The Butler Area School District has a new contract in place for the next five years with the company providing student transportation.
The agreement with Valley Lines includes a freeze for the next school year as well as an average increase of 1.7% per year after that.
The new deal would allow the board an exit after three years as well as includes GPS systems on the buses and COVID-19 protection provisions.
The district is still working on how social distancing could be accomplished in the close environment of a school bus.
