The Butler Area School District approved an extension of the collective bargaining agreement with the Butler Area Support Professional Association at last night’s school board meeting.
The new two-year agreement covers 100 individuals working as the district’s secretaries, paraprofessionals, and medical technician employees.
According to Butler Superintendent Dr. Brian White, the new deal includes a significant increase in starting compensation in an effort to attract prospective employees at a rate comparable to neighboring districts.
The new agreement has been approved by the members of the union and will continue through June 2029.
