The 2025-26 Butler Area School District final budget put forward by district administrators does not include a tax increase or furloughs.
Last night, board members approved the final budget of nearly $118 million with no changes from the preliminary budget. This represents an increase of about $3 million over the current year budget.
Local real-estate tax rates will remain at just over 109 mils. This comes after the board approved a tax increase of 2.66 mils last year to help address millions needed to accomplish capital projects. Work to be completed this summer includes a new roof at McQuistion and the replacement of the Senior High Auditorium tile, carpeting, and seating.
State revenue has not yet been determined so administrators have made conservative estimates about what they believe it will be.
