A new program is coming to Butler City elementary schools that aims to give kids a place to eat and study after school.
The After School Dinner Program will be every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:45-5 p.m. starting next week at Broad Street and Emily Brittain. It’s open to anyone 18 and under; free dinner will be provided along with tutoring and other enrichment activities.
District staff will be on-hand to help with homework and a non-profit group will schedule other activities.
The joint effort between the school district and the Nutrition Group hopes to have enough participation to keep the program open all year.
