The Butler Area School Board took the first step toward a 2018-19 budget with a discussion about projected revenue Monday night.
Business Manager Nick Morelli outlined the numbers he is using for revenue next year which combine local, state and federal funds to arrive at about $102 million.
That number does not include any tax increase but if the board does decide to increase millage by the maximum they are allowed under the state index, that would add an additional $1.3 million to the total.
A discussion about projected expenses for next year is expected to take place at the next school board meeting later this month, Feb. 26, but administrators will be aiming to match the total revenue estimate.
