The Butler Area School District is receiving financial help through a state grant in order to grow agricultural infrastructure.
The district will receive $30,000 through the PA Farm Bill’s Urban Agriculture Infrastructure Grant Program.
“At the end of the day, it’s the pride that comes from feeding yourself. It’s the pride that comes from recognizes that in our communities, irrespective of where they are in the state, there are people who are doing the most honorable of professions, and that is feeding us,” Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding said.
Last year, Butler was a recipient of a $50,000 grant towards creating a market at Broad Street Elementary School.
20 projects in 10 counties across the state received a total of about $520,000 through the PA Farm Bill.
