The Butler Area School District is just over a week into classes, and it has already been a hectic six days for the district.
Along with transportation delays and more than a dozen active COVID cases, Governor Tom Wolf issued a mask mandate for public and private schools.
Superintendent Dr. Brian White sent an email to parents saying that the district will follow Wolf’s mandate, although they have currently have a lawsuit against the state arguing that decisions like this should be left up to local control.
White said if a student doesn’t comply with the mask requirement, they will notify the school principal and possibly the Department of Health.
