Tensions are rising in Harrisburg as the struggle for power in the House of Representatives continues.
Both Democratic and Republican leaders have claimed control of the chamber following the resignations of two representatives who were elected to higher office.
That now gives Republicans a 101 to 99 majority to start the year.
But, Democratic Representative Joanna McClinton said in a press release that she had been privately sworn-in as speaker because Democrats had won 102 seats on Election Day. Republicans argue she has no authority to do so.
Right now a special election for the seats is tentatively scheduled for February 7th, although it’s not confirmed if that will proceed.
