A large crowd gathered at the brand new Victor K. Phillips Nursing and Allied Health Building at Butler County Community College to celebrate its grand opening.
The latest facility to be built on BC3’s main campus is a state-of-the art nursing building that gives students access to the latest labs and technology.
The building has been open since the start of the semester and according to BC3 President Dr. Nick Neupauer students are really enjoying it.
“Particularly for our second year nursing students who were in the previous facility, which served this college very well for a number of years, but when you compare the Phillips building with the older facilities they are just in awe,” Neupauer said.
Neupauer says the transformation of the main campus since his start in 2007 has been amazing.
“I think of my time as president and the terrific teamwork it took from the college as a whole, including supporters of BC3 who literally donated millions of dollars to make this happen,” Neupauer said. “This project is the culmination of a great team effort.”
The college received $6.75 million in private funding for the new nursing building, including significant donations from Janis Larrick-Phillips and Senator Tim Shaffer.
