Butler County Community College is considering expanding into a sixth county. BC3 President Dr. Nick Neupauer:
“There were a number of options which the University of Pittsburgh could pursue but based on our excellence, us being the number one community college, us being a regional institution, us having great success at BC3 at Brockway, University of Pittsburgh trustee members and officials are interested in looking into a partnership with BC3.”
BC3 is in talks with the University of Pittsburgh-Titusville to potentially hold classes at their campus in Crawford County. A deal has yet to be reached but officials are expected to meet in the coming weeks. It’s unclear how many BC3 classes would be offered there.
According to Neupauer, the college is looking forward to continuing the dialogue about this potentially innovative arrangement.
“We would go onto its campus. We would utilize space on its campus. We would offer our quality offerings on its campus. Students would be able to save lots of money and in the end still end up with that Pitt degree.”
BC3 currently has a presence in five counties- Butler, Mercer, Lawrence, Armstrong and Jefferson counties.
