Butler County Community College will host an event this weekend to help raise money in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
Nathaniel Sofranko is the Butler Walk Manager says the walk has a lot of businesses and individuals signed up for the walk this Saturday.
Registration for the two mile Walk to End Alzheimer’s begins at 9 a.m. on BC3’s main campus in Butler Township. The day will also include music and a Promise Garden Ceremony.
Funds will go to support various programs for caregivers and those dealing with the disease as well as research programs to move closer to finding reliable treatments. Participants do not need a team or to have done the walk in the past in order to join in on Saturday.
“[The walk] is a great way for people to learn about what the association does,” Sofranko said.
