Butler County Community College was one of the schools impacted in a breach of a nationwide software system.
College officials say a breach of the National Student Clearinghouse included information about BC3 students or former students.
The National Student Clearinghouse provides a range of higher education data and research services.
The college is required to report enrollment and degree information per federal guidelines. The information that is included in those reports are the student’s name, address, date of birth, social security number, and program of study.
BC3 officials also add that the college’s servers and infrastructure were not compromised.
