Butler County Community College is partnering with a local company to debut a new program for high school students this fall.
BC3 and Penn United Technologies are teaming up to offer the nine month Penn United Manufacturing Pre-Apprenticeship Certificate beginning in September.
Sophomores through seniors in the manufacturing program can earn National Tool and Machining Association credentials in areas such as basic math and blueprint reading as well as National Institute for Metalworking Skills credentials in measurement, materials, and safety.
Students can then step directly into jobs following graduation. This course represents the first noncredit and manufacturing-based offering in the 23 years BC3 has made high school programming available.
