Many local families are set to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal thanks to record-setting fundraising at Butler County Community College.
Officials say thanks to private donations and volunteer work, the college was able to secure turkeys and other Thanksgiving food for 78 residents in need.
The Butler County Bar Association Foundation donated $3,000 while the Butler AM Rotary and the Rotary Club of Butler each contributed $500 to the holiday meal packages. Vintage Coffeehouse in Butler will allocate $1 for each specialty coffee sold December 3rd toward BC3’s holiday meal packages.
The distribution is powered in part by the BC3 food security team and the Pioneer Pantry, which has continued to experience an increase in the cost of food as they help to reduce local hunger.
