A group of students at Butler County Community College’s Cranberry campus came together to honor veterans this week.
The students re-started an art club that went away during the pandemic and created thank-you cards for veterans.
The cards were distributed to BC3 student-veterans or reservists along with veterans at a nearby retirement community.
“We should honor those who have served, or who are serving,” 19-year-old Kim Lahoz-Ruiz the art club president and a BC3 @ Cranberry said. “We thought this was the perfect way to honor them and show how grateful we are for them.”
BC3 officials say they have over 100 student-veterans enrolled this fall at their campuses. They each received a card, along with 30 cards that were delivered to the Sherwood Oaks retirement home.
