The Butler County Community College women’s basketball team defeated Westmoreland County Community College 60-42 Saturday night to win the Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference championship. Aslyn Pry scored 29 to lead the Lady Pioneers to their fifth conference title. It was the most points a BC3 women’s player has scored in a championship game. Pry added 11 rebounds, seven assists and seven blocked shots. Emma Monteleone added 13 points and Hailey Metzger scored 10 for BCS and were named to the All-Tournament Team. (Pry is a Moniteau grad. Monteleone and Metzger are Butler grads).
BC3 is now 9-7 overall after beginning their season 0-4. The will face #3-seed Anne Arundel Community College in Maryland this Saturday at noon in the Region 20 Semifinals.
The BC3 men fell to Westmoreland 84-80 in the WPCC title game. Mattix Clement scored 30 for the Pioneers.
