Pennsylvania’s top health official is weighing in on what the pandemic will look like as we move into the colder months.
Acting Secretary of Health Alison Beam says there are several factors that may come into play with COVID during the winter.
“There’s no perfect template to apply to what we’re heading into this season. Of course, a differentiator are the vaccines. So, we are going into this winter with a layer of protection and a tool that was only starting to be rolled out early this year.”
Beam also said that high vaccination rates in nursing homes and long-term care facilities could also curb the high infection rates that the state saw last winter.
