Born January 15, 1938 in Serbanovka, Ukraine, he was a son of the late Herbert and Olga (Semke) Klann.
He immigrated with his family to the United States through Ellis Island in 1952, was a 1957 graduate of Butler High School, and retired from Armco Steel and the U.S. National Guard after more than 30 years.
He greatly enjoyed reading, history, cooking, and loved the outdoors, including hunting, fishing and canoeing.
He is survived by two sons, Terry and Christian; siblings Erma Fontaine of Butler, Harry Klann of Huntington Beach, CA, Manfred Klann of Butler, Helmut Klann of Foley, AL, Irene Wood of Butler, and Robert Klann of Huntersville, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sandra (Buckham), his son Scott, and his siblings Walter Klann, Eric Klann, Erwin Klann, Gerhard Klann, and Margaret Ratz.
All services and burial were held privately.
