The Butler Health System has released more information about upcoming COVID vaccine clinics.
BHS will be offering the Novavax COVID-19 vaccine for people ages 12 and older. Like other vaccines, this medicine has two doses four weeks apart but unlike other vaccines, the Novavax contains no viral particles. Instead it only has a protein which is similar to annual flu vaccines.
BHS continues to host pediatric vaccine clinics for kids age 6 months to under 6 years old with pediatric versions of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines as well as booster shots. A parent must accompany children.
BHS is also offering clinics to administer the monkeypox vaccine which is now available to more people.
Some clinics are held at Butler Memorial Hospital but most take place at the Crossroads Campus. Appointments can be scheduled through the BHS website or by calling the Butler County Center for Community Resources during normal business hours.
