A bill that would allow more freedom for the testing of autonomous vehicles is now moving to the state senate.
The new law would allow self-driving vehicles to be tested on public streets without having someone behind the wheel. Current state law requires that an actual person serve as an emergency driver in case of an error.
Supporters of the bill say this is the next step in an industry that is evolving quickly.
However, those against the bill say it provides an unnecessary risk to drivers and pedestrians on the road.
