A bill that would allow schools to serve whole milk has passed through the United States House.
The law was sponsored by Pennsylvania Congressman Glenn “GT” Thompson, who has been pushing to reintroduce the option to schools since its ban first passed in 2012.
Those in the dairy industry argue that as students are exposed to less flavorful options of milk, they will be less inclined to drink the product as they get older.
The bill passed the U.S. House with bipartisan support, and now moves to the Senate.
