A state lawmaker has introduced a bill that would allow bars to stay open until 4 a.m.
Representative Jordan Harris from Philadelphia says that restaurants and bars were hit hard by the pandemic. He argues this bill would help them recover faster by staying open later.
Under current law, no alcohol can be served past 2 a.m.
Harris’ bill would allow local municipalities to decide whether or not to allow bars to stay open that late.
The state restaurant association said they like the bill, but are more focused on getting the industry up-and-running.
