It’s not uncommon to see Jeeps without their doors during the summertime in Butler.
But, that’s technically not allowed under the current state law according to State Senator Devlin Robinson. He introduced legislation that would make it legal.
“Currently, it is illegal to drive on Pennsylvania roadways without doors, the very state that invented the Jeep,” Robinson said. “In fact, Pennsylvania is the only state in the United States where this is still prohibited.”
A current loophole in the policy is why it’s not technically enforced in Pennsylvania. Robinson says his bill has bipartisan approval.
