Summertime means more time on the water for local residents.
As boaters get ready, an annual blessing is set to happen this Saturday. The “Blessing of the Fleet” is scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Davis Hollow Marina on Lake Arthur.
Complimentary vessel safety checks will also be offered for those wanting to learn more about being safe on the water.
The event is free and open to the public.
The blessing is planned by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Division 7 and also coincides with National Safe Boating Week.
