Roansy Contreras took the loss after allowing five earned runs on nine hits in five innings of work. Reliever Chase De Jong allowed five more runs in the final two innings.
Outfielder Bryan Reynolds went 0-for-5 Sunday, snapping an 11-game hitting streak. The Pirates had eight hits in the game, but left 10 on base.
They were outscored 22-3 in the weekend series with Toronto.
