Nurses at Butler Memorial Hospital have agreed to a new three year agreement.
Hospital officials say the new contract includes significant provisions for nurse retention, including wage increases, benefit enhancements, and the establishment of a new weekend program for RNs.
Specific financial details were not included in the press release by Butler Memorial Hospital, but average wage increases were said to be “market-competitive.”
“We’re proud to work at a hospital that truly invests in high-quality nursing care and respects the skill and commitment of its nursing staff and the excellent care were provide to our community,” Tammy May, a registered nurse in the Intensive Care Unit and president of the local nurses union said. “This contract reinforces the strong relations we have with leadership at Butler Memorial Hospital.”
The contract takes effect starting April 17th and runs through April 2025.
“The last few years have presented many challenges, this agreement maintains our commitment to employees,” Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer Karen Allen said.
There are more than 400 registered nurses at Butler Memorial Hospital.
