The Mars Area School District will have a new Director of Technology for the upcoming school year.
The school board has hired Ryan Morgan to take over the position beginning Sept. 3.
“Ryan will be integral in bridging the gap between the school district and our third party,” said Dr. Wesley Shipley, superintendent. “(He will) also make recommendations for future purchases and the integration of instructional technology in the classroom.”
Morgan holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Pennsylvania State University and is a VMware Certified Professional 4. He previous served as manager of technology & network services and technology network administrator at Norwin School District (North Huntingdon, Pa.); technology network administrator at West Mifflin Area School District (West Mifflin, Pa.); and as technology account and help desk manager at South Allegheny School District (McKeesport, Pa.).
“I am looking forward to moving Mars forward to the next step in technology,” said Morgan. “If I can get the students and staff half as excited about ‘tech’ as I am, then I will feel that I have accomplished something.”
