The boil water advisory for a portion of Butler County has been extended.
Pennsylvania American Water announced Monday afternoon that although tank levels have returned to normal, this precautionary advisory has been extended for an additional 48 hours. The water is fine for bathing and washing but drinking water should be boiled.
The advisory affects parts of Butler City, Butler Township, and Center Township. The advisory is as a result of a water main break on Delwood Road Saturday morning.
Bottled water is available at their treatment plant at 203 Oneida Valley Road from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Customers can also bring their own containers to use a water tanker.
