A new piece of art has been added to the Butler Cultural District.
A bench shaped as a book was recently introduced outside of Emily Brittan Elementary School.
The bench was designed by local students and artist Tom Panei. Students from the school painted the back of the bench, while Panei added marquee Butler landmarks to what looks like the “inside of the book.”
“Every kid in the school got to put a big stripe of paint on the back of the bench. So they got to physically put their mark on it,” Panei said.
This is one of the first unique pieces of art added to the cultural district, with organizers hoping to add more unique benches throughout the area.
