A nine-year-old boy has died after he slipped into an Armstrong County creek earlier this weekend.
The Kittanning State Police say that just after 1pm on Saturday, an unidentified Dayton boy was fishing with his family along the Mahoning Creek when he slipped off a boulder into the creek.
Authorities say that the water where the boy fell in was deeper than expected, which made search efforts more challenging. The boy was then located and pulled out of the water. He was flow to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh where we was pronounced dead.
Police deemed that foul play was not a factor.
