Brian Jay Ellison, age 47, of Butler, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017, in Allegheny General Hospital.
Born in Butler on March 20, 1970, he was a son of Russell J. Ellison and Harriet Shanor Marchitelli.
He was employed for more than 20 years as a quality engineer at JSP International.
Active in the East Butler Baseball Association, Brian was a coach and general field manager, as well as past president of the organization. He also belonged to the Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club, the Moraine Trap Shooting League, and the East Butler Fireman’s Social Club. In addition, he was a volunteer for CORE – the Center for Organ Recovery and Education.
He is survived by his wife, Maribeth Davis Ellison; his son, Gavin Ellison, at home; two stepsons, Brian Tanner, of Greensburg, PA, and Aaron Tanner, of Butler; one stepdaughter, Brittney Meehan and her husband, Josh, of Butler; his mother and stepfather, Harriet and Joseph Marchitelli, of Apollo, PA; his father, Russell Ellison, of Redington, FL; two brothers, David Ellison and his wife, Amy, of Butler, and Gregory Ellison and his wife, Janet, of Butler; and four grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Avenue, Butler, on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. The service will follow at 7 p.m., with Pastor Philip Ramstad, of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Apollo, officiating.
