The Butler Transit Authority will receive a large amount of money to market their commuter service to Pittsburgh.
The Board of Directors was informed Tuesday by Executive Director John Paul that PennDOT will make $50,000 available to advertise the service. The money will be available July 1.
The money will be used to create a television spot as well as digital advertising, radio ads and direct mailing flyers.
The authority is still waiting for final figures from PennDOT to complete the budget for the whole commuter service project but standards have been determined that the service must meet by the third year in order for the program to continue.
