A couple of local school districts will be receiving funding from the PA Department of Education to help improve facility infrastructure.
Butler Area School District has been awarded over $1 million through this year’s Environmental Repairs Grant Program to do work on the exterior of the Intermediate School, the tile of the Senior High Auditorium, and renovate a bathroom in the 400 wing. This grant requires an equal local match which Butler will pull from their capital fund. It is not yet known when this work will take place.
This program has also designated over $78,000 for the Knoch School District to address environmental hazards.
109 education agencies statewide have received a total of $75 million in funding in this most recent awarding of grants through this program.
