A Butler Area School District elementary teacher has won a state award for making a difference in the lives of students.
Second grade McQuistion Elementary teacher Patricia Johnson has received an Apple Award in recognition of her exceptional efforts in teaching, coaching and supporting educational excellence.
The Apple Award is given by the National State of Teachers of the Year- Pennsylvania Chapter. Johnson was nominated by a parent of one of her past students.
“Mrs. Johnson is so caring to all students and so dedicated to student achievement. She makes all students feel special,” said the parent who nominated Mrs. Johnson. “All of her students, regardless of their family backgrounds and economic status, thrive in her classroom because she offers a safe, nurturing environment free of judgement.”
