The Butler Area School District is giving parents and guardians multiple options for their children this upcoming school year.
The district released a plan yesterday that gives students the choice between traditional and online learning.
For secondary students, the options include:
- Physically going into school in the traditional sense
- Taking all online classes—essentially cyber school
- Or a hybrid option; a combination of online and in-school learning
Meanwhile elementary students will have the option of going to school or learning online. There is no hybrid option.
Parents are encouraged to fill out a form indicating which school option they want for their child.
“This information will be used to help us effectively plan for the upcoming year. We recognize there is still a lot of unknown,” Butler Superintendent Dr. Brian White wrote on the district’s website. “Therefore, we are creating flexibility in our plans that will enable parents and students to change their path over the summer or any time during the upcoming school year.”
