Today is the first Flexible Instructional Day for students and staff in the Butler Area School District.
Students have received a take home kit of work required to be completed in order to get credit for a day of school without physically being in class.
“I think the teachers and principals have been working hard on it,” Superintendent Dr. Brian White said. “I think everyone of them would tell you that it would be easier to come to school after all the work and effort they put into this. It’s not been a light effort for all the employees involved.”
This day is necessary to be made up after the decision was made to push back the first day of school at Butler in August due to issues with transportation scheduling.
As of right now, no other Butler Area School District make-up days are scheduled to be replaced with Flexible Instructional Days but that could change depending on the feedback received from everyone involved.
