The Butler BlueSox and the City of Butler donated over $2,700 to help the victims of the floods that damaged homes and businesses on the West End of the city of Butler earlier this month.
The BlueSox and the city’s Parks, Recreation Grounds & Facilities Authority pledged to donate $3 from every ticket sold to the BlueSox game on Wednesday, July 12 to the Butler Emergency Relief Initiative.
Officials say the fans in attendance donated an extra $300 and the Butler Cubs Hall donated $100.
Kelly Automotive Park, which is home to the Butler BlueSox, sits in the middle of the West End, which was devastated by quick and heavy rainfall on July 5. The park itself was not damaged.
