A Butler Area School District bus was involved in a minor accident Tuesday morning.
The bus, which did have students on board, hit a deer on Herman Road near Bonniebrook Road. The incident happened at 7 a.m. while the students were on their way to school.
Darren Osche with the Herman Volunteer Fire Company said firefighters were called to the scene as a precaution.
“When we arrived, the bus was off to the side of the road,” Osche said. “The driver said she hit, or more-or-less bumped, a deer.”
According to Osche, an ambulance crew checked out the students, who all appeared unhurt and OK. The bus was able to continue on its trip.
The deer also continued on its trip, getting up and running from the scene.
