Students at Butler Catholic are getting ready for school to start later this week, but there will be a new face to greet them on day one.
John Hazur was named the new principal of Butler Catholic over the summer. He replaces Sister John Ann, who oversaw the school’s operations for the last 20 years.
Hazur is excited about the opportunity.
“It’s been a lot of fun getting into this role. This is my first time as a principal, so I’m really excited about this position,” Hazur said. “It’s been a learning experience for me, getting to meet all my staff and community members here, along with all the people involved with Butler Catholic School.”
He comes to the position after spending the last 12 years teaching in the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
Hazur is a native of the Verona area and currently resides there with his wife and daughter.
