Butler City Council has nominated a candidate to fill a new unpaid position that will share information with the Department of Homeland Security.
Chris Marlar will advance his application to the Western PA All Hazard Fusion Center to be considered as Butler City’s Fusion Liaison Officer.
The liaison would be the city’s point of contact in a group of agencies statewide and beyond working on large-scale initiatives, like combating terrorism.
Marlar is expected to begin training in June.
