A popular program for kids with in the City of Butler is returning this year and signups will soon be made available.
The Butler City Summer Program for Kids in the parks and playgrounds will returning this summer and signups will be made available through the school district in the next couple of weeks.
There was a possibility that the summer program would not happen this year. But, organizations across Butler stepped up to provide funding and resources. For Butler City Mayor Bob Dandoy this is the fun part of being mayor.
“That’s when it’s cool being mayor is when people come together and say ‘Can we do something with this?’ And within a week it happened and we’re able to move forward with this program for kids. It’ll be fun,” Dandoy said.
The Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank will also be providing lunches to the children.
