Seats are still available on the caravan of buses leaving Butler County and heading to the nation’s capitol Friday for the annual March For Life.
At least 200,000 marchers are expected in D.C. for the march, which is now in its 46th year. The march takes place this weekend because Jan. 22 marks the date that abortion was legalized in 1973.
The theme of this year’s march is “Unique from Day One: Pro-Life is Pro-Science,” which emphasizes the scientific evidence that life begins at conception. Butler County residents have long supported this event, according to former president of the Butler County Chapter of Pennsylvanians for Human Life Larry Black.
Costs and departure times vary, but most buses will leave around 6 a.m. Friday and return about 11 p.m.
