The local community is celebrating the opening of a new Child Advocacy Center facility in Unionville.
The Butler County Alliance for Children held a ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony for their new facility on Mahood Road Thursday afternoon.
“Seven years ago I left my job at Children and Youth with nothing but a box of supplies and a dream. I dreamed to create a child friendly location where children and their families could receive coordinated services as their first step in recovering from the abuse they endured,” Executive Director Dr. Denna Hays said.
An open house is planned for 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday featuring family friendly children’s activities and more. Local residents are invited to tour the facility as well as meet staff and volunteers.
The Butler County Alliance for Children is a Child Advocacy Center that has provided forensic interviews and examinations for over 1,700 child victims throughout the county as well as community training to ensure health, safety, and well-being of local children and families.
