As Pennsylvania gears up for the primary election in June, the director of elections in Butler County is stepping down.
County officials say Shari Brewer resigned from her position late last week.
No official reason was given for her departure.
The county says they’re in the process of filling the vacancy. In the interim, elections bureau employee Chantell McCurdy and Melissa Herrit will be splitting Brewer’s duties.
“She has served the county faithfully and with great care,” Butler County Commissioner Leslie Osche said. “We all wish Shari and her family well.”
Brewer had been elections director since 2010.
