The county is moving away from having a third party oversee senior centers and is bringing it under its own guidance.
County commissioners voted to end their contract with Nutrition Inc.—the company that oversaw the senior centers.
Commissioners cited that the company was in charge of meals and programming, however Nutrition Inc. was reimbursed for each meal they sold, and the board believed that created a conflict of interest.
All commissioners were confident in the continued success of the senior centers, and added the move doesn’t come at any additional cost to the county.
